Student Run Los Angeles Club- Pacoima Middle School
Students Run L.A. (SRLA) was started by a group of teachers in the late 80’s. The goal was to challenge and motivate students to undergo a life-changing experience: participate and complete all 26.2 miles of the Los Angeles Marathon. A program that started with a few teachers now boasts 500 leaders, 3,200 students, and 175 schools throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
Pacoima Middle School proudly counts itself as an SRLA campus. Charlie Koski leads the SRLA team, and has faithfully volunteered his time, experience, and expertise since 2002. He, along with other dedicated teacher leaders, act as mentors to the students and model the benefits of goal-setting. Their leadership also emphasizes character development and promotes healthy living. Pacoima students run LA, one step at a time.
